It happened again! Not only did nobody win Monday's massive $750 million jackpot, but Wednesday night's $815 million drawing also came and went without a grand prize winner. That means Saturday's jackpot is now sitting pretty at an estimated $950 million... making it the sixth-largest jackpot in Powerball history!
We are getting close to that magical billion-dollar mark, and honestly, at this point, it feels inevitable.
Wednesday night's winning numbers were: 9, 12, 22, 41, 61 and red Powerball 25. The Power Play was 4X.
Despite an estimated $850 million jackpot up for grabs, nobody managed to match all six numbers. But hey, that just means more money for the next lucky winner or winners if multiple people hit it big!
While no one struck the ultimate prize, Wednesday's drawing created some pretty happy millionaires. Six tickets won $1 million or more by matching all five white balls:
There were also 40 tickets that won $50,000 and 10 tickets that won $200,000. Not bad for a "consolation prize," right?
Get this- Saturday's drawing will be the 39th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner since May 31, 2025 (if no one wins). That California winner back in May probably had no idea they were starting what would become one of the longest jackpot streaks in recent memory!
During this summer streak, 56 tickets have won $1 million or more, and 558 tickets have won $50,000 or more. So while nobody's become a billionaire yet, plenty of people have had their lives changed in pretty amazing ways.
That $950 million jackpot for Saturday night is now the sixth-largest in Powerball history. Winners can choose between the full $950 million paid over 30 years or a lump sum of $428.9 million before taxes.
Let's put this in perspective with Powerball's all-time biggest hits:
We're literally one more rollover away from joining the billion-dollar club!
Your odds are still a brutal 1 in 292.2 million- those haven't magically improved just because the jackpot is huge. But here's the thing: somebody's eventually going to hit this thing, and when they do, they're going to be absolutely set for life.
Tickets are still just $2 each (plus that extra buck for Power Play if you're feeling fancy).
Saturday's drawing is at 10:59 p.m. ET, and with the way this jackpot has been climbing, don't be surprised if that $950 million grows even higher by game time. The excitement is building, ticket sales are through the roof, and we could be looking at the first billion-dollar jackpot since 2023.
One thing's for sure- whether you play or not, Saturday night is going to be must-see TV. Someone's going to become incredibly, ridiculously, life-changingly wealthy, and it could happen to literally anyone with a $2 ticket.
And remember, even if you don't win the big one, more than half of every ticket sale stays right in your state to fund various programs and services. Since 1992, Powerball has generated over $36 billion for good causes. So you're helping out even when you're not winning big!
