The board of the company that owns The Kentucky Castle and True Story Whiskey has fired CEO Wes Henderson, a co-founder of Angel's Envy bourbon, after a lawsuit accused him of secretly recording family members and guests with hidden cameras.

In a statement, the board of TKC Distilling said it terminated Henderson's employment "effective immediately, in light of the allegations outlined in a recently filed lawsuit." Kyle Henderson will take over as CEO of both the Castle and True Story Whiskey. The board said it will conduct "a full and independent investigation into the allegations."

Wes Henderson founded Angel's Envy with his dad Lincoln Henderson in 2010. The brand was later sold to Bacardi. Wes' name was recently removed from the Angel's Envy website. Wes has owned the Kentucky Castle in Versailles since 2023.

What the lawsuit alleges

One of Henderson's family members filed the lawsuit in Oldham Circuit Court in June of this year.

According to the lawsuit, the family stayed at Henderson's vacation home in Florida in June 2025. A family member allegedly noticed suspicious lights coming from a bathroom mirror, found a hidden camera with a removable SD card, and then searched the house.
